This building housed the Hamilton Public Library from 1913 until the new Central Library building was built at Jackson Square. The library was constructed after the Hamilton Library board was granted funding from American steel tycoon and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie's Carnegie Corporation. Since 1986, the building has contained the Unified Family Court.
